Since April 2017 Josephine Kantan works as solar operator at Phebe Hospital in Bong county, Liberia. She also continues to be in charge of the Diesel generator there. Josephine Kantan visited the recent EnDev workshop series for solar experts at the GIZ Health Project in Congo Town from the 27.03.2018-29.03.2018. The Renewables-Liberia Team used the opportunity to do an interview with her as she is one of a few women working in the power sector of Liberia.
On Wednesday March 21, 2018 EnDev/GIZ hosted its third solar cinema for the children of the surrounding communities. The idea of this event is to explain energy issues very practical to children and of course to organize a nice evening for them.

Eight university students from the University of Liberia (UL) Electrical Engineering Department, are receiving training from the German Cooperation GIZ through the EnDev program in renewable energy with emphasis on solar installations.
The Trust Savings Credit Union (TSCU) has started to sell solar lanterns and small solar home systems in Ganta, Tappita, Saclepea and Karnplay. All members who have a savings account can pay the solar light in installments. Some of the seven different solar products were sold out on the first day after the sales started in April 2018.
