  • What is the benefit of signing up in the Renewables Network?
    • The Renewables Network is a developing and growing platform. It aims to connect businesses, government, NGO’s, retailers, distributors and interested people in one place.
Information will be shared, technologies can be discussed, news exchanged and activities monitored in an interactive map.
It helps to identify what is happening in the renewable sector and gives possibilities to cooperate.
You will be part of the market for renewable energies and can profit from it.
  • How can I electrify my house using solar power?
    • There are different possibilities in doing so. You can use SHS (link) to be independent from the grid.
    • You can also start an initiative in your neighbourhood and build a mini grid system (link).
  • How can I pay for my solar system?
    • You can pay the cost of the system in all at once or you can pay for it in instalments. For instalments there are different options and also a Pay-as-you-go option. (link)
Pay-as-you-go works with your mobile phone and you pay when you need the energy.
  • Can I repair my solar lamp/solar system?
    • Yes, skilled technicians who can do repairs can be found on the website (link).
    • Also every lamp or system that is distributed by one of the members of the Renewable Network applies to minimum quality standards which give you at least 1 year of guarantee. Therefore make sure that your sales agent fills out the warranty card and keep it safely. If a technical error occurs within the warranty period your lamp/system will be replaced.
  • Can Solar power everything? Fan, Icebox, Freezer, air-conditioner?
    • Depending on the size of the solar system and the devices used it can power nearly everything. There is existing systems for fridges, there are Flatscreen TV’s developed for SHS and also solar air-conditioners exist.
  • Since the solar uses sun light, what happens during the raining season?
    • During the rainy season there are fewer sun hours, meaning that the charging of the batteries takes longer. A good system calculation is based on the sun hours of the rainy season.
Nevertheless no direct sun light is needed, even during cloudy days the suns radiation reaches the panel and allows charging.
