In November 2016, GIZ/EnDev Liberia was invited by Ms. Aminata Dumbuya, Campaign Director of Power for All, to partake in an outreach tour enveloping Kambia and Portloko with the aim of supporting the Renewable Energy Association of Sierra Leone (REASL) through propagating the importance of solar energy.
The EnDev team met with the Renewable Energy Association of Sierra Leone (REASL), a broad-based group made of entrepreneurs in a number of key local and international private sectors who envision renewable energy as the engine propelling universal electricity access and powering economic growth for Sierra Leone. The group promotes the adoption, development and growth of renewable energy technologies across sectors in conjunction with the Ministry of Energy of Sierra Leone.
Excited onlookers during the prototype outreach
On December 14, 2016, EnDev Liberia team hosted a prototype outreach that subsequently spurned the main event which was scheduled for postponement.
The roadshow was mostly conducted on wheels converging from Freetown to The Ahmadiyya Sec. School, 4 Mile Junction, Newton, and Western Rural Sierra Leone.
At the roadshow, retailers were given the opportunity to publicize their products to the audience that rapidly bought these appliances and got privileged information to retail sites.
