In Gbediah Town Timbo District, River Cess County, a new hospital is under construction. GIZ/EnDev supported Welthungerhilfe to temporarily install an 11.75kW Solar System that will help the people who coordinate and work towards completing the hospital.

The 11.7Kw Solar system (325W x 36 pcs) at the WHH Office at the construction site in one of the future staff quarters has a battery bank capacity of 3000Ah, or 144000Wh (3000Ah x 48VDC)s  and is equivalent to a 14.6Kva generator (11700/ power factor 0.8). From Monday, September 14, 2020, it will power equipment for office use and security at night. The hospital will receive a larger solar system later. Once the hospital construction is completed, this now installed solar system will be transferred to the Welthungerhilfe Buchanan office for which it was originally intended.

Six Liberians headed by GIZ/ EnDev chief installation technician Mr. Momo Torkson. The solar panel is expected to last beyond twenty-five years and the batteries between five to fifteen years if well taken care of. It's almost certain you'll need a replacement in the future to match the 20- to 30-year lifespan of your solar power system. Eight local staff were trained to maintain, manage, and operate the equipment.
