On November 13 and 15, 2019, Ministry of Health (MoH) and GIZ/EnDev collaborated towards paving a way for monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of solar systems in all health facilities in Liberia. Solar technicians from GIZ/EnDev trained engineers from the MoH infrastructure unit and bio- medical technicians from the ministry of health hand – on.

The training was held at the MoH conference hall located in Congo town Liberia. More than thirty-one engineers and bio- technicians from various counties participated in the training. During the training, participants learned how to do use EnDevCollect app to register and monitor solar systems, as well as maintain, troubleshoot and repair various solar systems

Engineers and bio- technicians were divided into groups to do the practical aspect of the training, each group were able to do troubleshooting and repairing on a Fosera and Solar suitcase systems that were provided by GIZ/EnDev for the training. At the end of the training participants appreciated EnDev for the knowledge that were impacted into them and promised to put what they learned to work as they return to their various counties.


Honorable James Forkpah Assistant Minister for Administration, Ministry of health represented the Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah at the closing ceremony. He appreciated GIZ/EnDev for the initiative ‘’We promise you today what you tought us will be put to work”. Within the next weeks and months, the biomedical technicans will work towards registering and monitoring all solar systems in health facilities in Liberia.
