Biomass in form of wood or charcoal is the most commonly used energy source for cooking in Liberia. There are few attempts to use biomass such as wood chips, palm oil or palm kernel shells to produce electricity. Various projects and activities aim to increase efficiency when using biomass for cooking to reduce deforestation and energy costs for consumers.
