The UK Department for International Development (DFID)’s Transforming Energy Access (TEA) programme (https://www.carbontrust.com/tea/) invites companies, researchers, NGOs and other stakeholders to collaborate and apply for grant support to action research projects and partnerships that create and drive productive electricity demand and use in off-grid and rural areas.

 

The call is especially for projects that combine business activity and action research in rural areas. The projects should locally add value to rural activities or value chains, create new value chains, including through digital economy, that is otherwise constrained by a lack of access to electricity, or enable other business / electricity-demand stimulating activities that may be created.
